Earth Month 2022 ‘Ulu Tree Campaign

Hawaiian Electric partners with the Hawai‘i ‘Ulu Cooperative and Hawai‘i Farm Trails to help local farmers!

The Hawaiian Electric ‘Ulu Tree campaign will run from April 4th through April 29th.  The drive offers options to purchase one or more trees at $30.00 each or a $5.00 to $10.00 donation for a tree share.

The trees will be donated to Shawn Pila and Kelly Green of Kulāiwi Farmstead located in Hakalau in North Hilo. The carbon sequestering ‘ulu trees will be incorporated into their agroforestry farm design and will provide food security for many years to come. Shawn and Kelly are believers in the revival of ‘ulu and will dedicate three acres of their farm to growing food crops.
