Managing Co-crops around ʻUlu Season
Please note that we do not accept co-crops during peak breadfruit season, as our staff and facilities are often overwhelmed with an over-abundance of ʻulu.
For that reason, farmers are encouraged to use this Co-crop Management Calendar to plan their planting, maintenance, and harvest activities for kalo, palaʻai (orange squash) and ʻuala (sweet potato) to support co-crop deliveries outside of peak breadfruit season, which is typically between September and December. In these months, we will not accept co-crop deliveries unless previously agreed upon via a marketing agreement (see below).

If planning to sell your co-crops to the Cooperative, please plan deliveries between January and July (unless another agreement is made in advance). Note that the co-op only guarantees purchase of breadfruit from registered members, while co-crops are purchased at our discretion based on seasonal processing capacity and demand.
Want to sell a large harvest to the Co-op (more than 1,000 lbs a year of any co-crop)? Consider a Marketing Agreement!
Please contact us at info@eatbreadfruit.com to learn about our structured marketing agreements. Larger volume producers are encouraged to enter into a marketing agreement with the cooperative to guarantee purchase of an agreed upon amount of co-crops throughout the year.
