HUC Celebrates 5th Anniversary: Download Our Five-Year Report

Summer 2021 marks five years since Hawaiʻi ʻUlu Cooperative began serving Hawaiʻi farmers and communities. We celebrated this important milestone at our Annual Member Meeting in July 2021 and with our Five-Year Report, which tracks the co-op’s growth from August 2016 to August 2021.

Watch the video below for a look inside the Annual Member Meeting and scroll down to download the full Five-Year Report.

In just five years, we have grown our membership to over 108 farmers on Hawaiʻi Island, Maui and Oʻahu, harvested over 625,000 lbs of local produce, planted 5,400 ʻulu trees, and collectively managed 200 acres of breadfruit agroforestry. Hawaiʻi ʻUlu Cooperative’s success over this period is directly linked to the cooperative model and its ability to balance local community ownership and long-term benefits with building a viable business. Over the next five years, we strive to continue developing an economically-successful, social enterprise that can also give back to the farmers, the community, and the ‘āina, while strengthening Hawaiʻi’s food system.
