Tamara Jones

Tamara works closely with the Co-op’s CEO to help scale the organization through cultivating strategic partnerships with key customers, community organizations, and industry stakeholders. On a personal level, Tamara is a kalo farmer with a passion for natural resource conservation, sustainable business, and Hawaiian language. She maintains a 1-acre diversified farm on east Oʻahu with loʻi kalo, ʻulu, cacao, etc. She graduated from Kalaheo High School and received her B.A. from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in Environmental Studies: Sustainability. In 2009, she became a LEED accredited professional and established a sustainability practice within the Hawaiʻi-based architecture firm KYA Design Group. After four years of consulting, she pivoted to the intersection of agroforestry and consumer packaged goods when she helped to launch Mānoa Chocolate Hawaiʻi. With over a decade of experience working in sustainable business and food manufacturing, she is honored to serve the Hawaiʻi ʻUlu Cooperative and its member farms.

Before the Cooperative
Sustainability professional with a passion for green business, zero waste, and natural resources conservation. I also worked in Hawaii’s emerging cacao industry and helped to launch Mānoa Chocolate Hawaii from startup to the thriving local business that it is today.
